1. take a well known series for example death note,naruto etc. !!
2. draw either funny doujinshis, yaoi or yuri with the most famous characters (can also be less famous charas...depends on the series ^^)...it´s not so improtant that you draw very well but more important that there is somethin funny or scandalising about the picture
3. post it on deviantart
4. post another version of it (eg. in black-white) and link them
5. post the first thing again (if you don´t get enough people to see it and write to all the further watchers that you had to repost it and tell them the link where they can find it again)
6. repeat 4&5 till you get famous
7. if you still don´t get famous your pic 1) wasn´t funny
2) was to bad drawn
3) was not from a well known series

Golden Rule:
In the beginnig only draw fanart...no one searches for charakters they don´t know...start drawing your oc´s when you are famous

But this:
I think it´s a pitty that so many great artist on DeviantArt are relatively unknown because they don´t do fanart to well known series or because they want to draw their own characters (No I don´t think I deserve more attention because I know my art is not very good but I´m sorry for those Artists)...and on the other side there are artists who don´t make really good art and they are only well known because they did eg. doujinshis of naruto ...thats not fair...no one really cares about the own charakters of other artists if they aren´t famous...
